AI-Based Writing Guidelines

The Journal of Applied Science Research and Innovation (JASRI) permits authors to use generative artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies during the preparation of manuscripts, provided that their use supports the quality, clarity, and presentation of the work and does not replace the authors intellectual contribution, judgment, or responsibility.

Principles

Human Oversight and Responsibility

Authors must maintain full human oversight and control over all AI-assisted content. AI tools may be used to improve language, readability, organization, or presentation; however, authors are responsible for carefully reviewing, verifying, and editing all AI-assisted content. Authors must ensure that the manuscript is accurate, complete, original, and free from inappropriate or misleading content.

Authorship and Accountability

Generative AI tools and AI-assisted technologies cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of manuscripts submitted to JASRI. Authorship is reserved for individuals who meet the journal's authorship requirements and can take responsibility for the work. The authors remain fully accountable for the accuracy, integrity, originality, and ethical standards of the submitted manuscript, including any content produced or modified with the assistance of AI.

Appropriate Use of AI

Authors may use generative AI or AI-assisted technologies for purposes such as:

  • Improving grammar, language, readability, and academic style
  • Assisting with manuscript organization and clarity
  • Supporting language translation or refinement
  • Assisting with the preparation or improvement of non-substantive text.

AI tools must not be used to fabricate, manipulate, or falsify data, results, references, images, citations, or other research materials. Authors should independently verify any information, references, or factual claims generated or suggested by AI tools.

Transparency and Disclosure

Authors must transparently disclose the use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies when such tools have been used in the substantive preparation of the manuscript. The disclosure should appear in the manuscript before the References section under the heading
Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Writing Process:
During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL/SERVICE] for [SPECIFY PURPOSE, e.g., language improvement, readability, or manuscript organization]. Following the use of this tool/service, the author(s) thoroughly reviewed, verified, and edited the content to ensure its accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness. The author(s) take full responsibility for the final content of the publication.

AI Use That Does Not Require Disclosure

Routine use of basic digital tools for spelling, grammar checking, formatting, reference management, or similar editorial functions does not normally require an AI disclosure, provided that these tools do not generate or substantially alter the intellectual or substantive content of the manuscript.
If no generative AI or AI-assisted technology was used in the preparation of the manuscript beyond such routine tools, authors do not need to include an AI disclosure statement.

Ethical and Editorial Review

JASRI reserves the right to request clarification regarding the use of AI in a submitted manuscript. Where AI-generated content raises concerns relating to accuracy, originality, plagiarism, research integrity, confidentiality, or ethical conduct, the journal may require appropriate clarification, correction, or other editorial action.
By submitting a manuscript to JASRI, authors confirm that they retain full responsibility for the work and that any use of AI or AI-assisted technologies complies with this policy and applicable research and publication ethics standards.
